Our initiatives
Helping Every Child Learn and Grow.
Learning to read and count helps children contribute to their communities. Venunye Foundation has a partly completed primary school intended to offer education based on Ghana’s national curriculum. Primary education provides a foundation every child should have the chance to gain.
After completing primary school at the centre, children can continue to secondary school when sponsors are available. More than 80 children who completed primary education at the centre have received sponsorship for secondary education.
Providing Nourishing Daily Meals.
Children at the centre receive porridge for breakfast and usually eat posho and beans for lunch and supper. Special meals on occasions such as Easter and Christmas depend on the support of donors.
With that support, children can enjoy foods such as matooke, Irish potatoes and rice, along with drinks including juice and soda.
Creating a Safe Place to Call Home
The centre provides shelter to children in its care and seeks a mattress and blanket for every child. Limited resources mean that some children currently share bedding.
Children sleep in three classrooms in the partly completed primary school because dormitories have not yet been built.
Providing Clothing and Everyday Essentials
The centre provides clothes, shoes, bags and other essentials to children in need.
Donations from supporters in different parts of the world help make these items available to the children in its care.
